There is a question Dan asks when he looks at how most water monitoring companies are built.
"Why would you start with a sensor if you have no visibility to your main cost risk?"
It is a fair question. Most competitors do exactly the opposite of what we do. They start with edge sensors. Small devices placed near fixtures, tucked into utility closets, installed behind drywall. They detect moisture or flow at specific points. The pitch sounds comprehensive. The reality is not.
The 80% Problem
Here is the problem.
Somewhere around 80% of wasted water runs down the pipe before it ever reaches a fixture. It never touches an edge sensor. It never triggers an alert. It just disappears. Quietly, invisibly, expensively... while the sensor on the third-floor bathroom sits there doing nothing.
Think about what that means in dollar terms for a moment.
